You are only a very small fish in a very, very large pond. There are millions of other fish all doing the same thing, all going after the same pile of cash.

Only the top 10% have a chance of making it in this game. That probably isn’t you.

To game the odds, make your blog less lame. A lot less lame.

Your blog is bland and boring because you only ever blog about one thing. While consistency is important, you should have one or two other subjects that you blog about sometimes. This displays your personality and helps your blog stand out from the pack.

John Chow is a good example of this, what with his posts on fast cars and restaurants.

If you have no personality or other interests, forget about it.

Hi. Nice blogging. Do you like pillows?

Above comment is lame. Why? Nice : )

Good post, as usual. Want to link to my blog?

If you are blatantly spamming your blog, sweeten the pill by saying something interesting, informative or funny. Don’t bother if the readers aren’t likely to actually like your blog. Only link to a specific post on your blog if the post you are commenting on is relevant to it. Jackass.

Come up with your own ideas already. Geez.

Did you think that having ultra-lame content that is just like John Chow or Problogger, only completely bowdlerised, would let you stand apart from the pack?

Personality-free five-point posts about RSS feeds are lame, and so are you.

Am I supposed to take you seriously when despite having English as your first language, you do not know how to spell (or use a spellchecker), you don’t know how to use punctuation and have never heard of capital letters?

Blogging is primarily about writing. If you failed primary school, perhaps this is not the way you shall earn a living. Just saying.

Perhaps in the future, I shall also make a blog about blogging about blogging about blogging, if only to be the first to do so.

This is the introductory post. The actual advice will follow in subsequent posts.
